Your checklist ticks
When you tick items on a checklist, the ticks are saved in your own browser's local storage so they are still there when you come back. They never leave your device and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data clears them, and the "Clear ticks" button on the kit page does the same.
Cookies
The site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If we ever add visitor statistics, we will use a privacy-respecting, cookieless service that counts visits without identifying people, and we will say so here.
The reminder email
If you sign up for the six-month reminder, we keep your email address in order to send it. We use it for nothing else, we never share or sell it, and every email has an unsubscribe link that removes you immediately. Email is handled by a third-party newsletter service that stores the address on our behalf; if you would like your address deleted entirely, email us and we will do it.
Server logs
Like every website, the server records standard technical details of each request (the page requested, the time, the browser type and an IP address) in logs used to keep the site running and secure. These are kept briefly and are not used to identify or profile anyone.
Links to other sites
We link to official sources and, on the recommended kit page, to retailers. Those sites have their own privacy practices. Retailer links may include a reference that tells the retailer you came from here, which is how a commission is attributed; it does not tell us who you are.
Children
The site is written for adults running a household. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
